Sixth Form Council
Welcome to Heart of England’s Sixth Form Council webpage
The Sixth Form Council is an opportunity for students to hold positions of responsibility and influence the shape of Sixth Form life.
The council seeks to improve the environment and charitability of the Sixth Form.
The council is led by the Head Boy and Girl who are assisted by their deputies and several Lead Ambassadors in pushing forward the vision and actions of the council with the overall aim to make the Sixth Form the best it can be.
The Investing members of the council aim to give the students the opportunity to work with lower school students as part of the mentoring programme. The mentoring scheme has been in place at Heart of England for many years. This has seen improved focus and effectiveness and has been praised for making an impact early in the school year. The Investing team also look at student welfare, ensuring students feel safe and respected, helping to inform them on all aspects of health and welfare.
Enhancing is all about listening to views of students about how to improve the experience and facilities of Sixth Form. With freedom to alter displays, and suggest changes to the layout of the Sixth Form and décor, the Enhancing team can make changes to impact the daily lives of Sixth Formers and staff.
The giving team is focused on building on our history of charity work and raising funds for charities of the students’ choice. This year the students chose to raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust. Through events such as quizzes, charity netball matches and the good old cake sale, the council is well on the way to raising an impressive amount of money for charity.
