Parent Information: Mobile Phones

There really is no need for students to bring mobile phones into school. We have very effective methods of contacting students in real emergencies, and if students need to contact home, there is a payphone available.

However, if students bring mobile phones in the school takes no responsibility for their safety. They are brought in at your own risk. Phones should be neither seen nor heard by staff anywhere around school otherwise the phone may be confiscated and not returned until a parent comes into school to collect the phone.

During examinations the possession of a mobile phone is deemed 'malpractice' and results in an X grade for the examination where the phone is found. We have provided a box for students to place phones if they have brought them in by accident. Again I must stress that phones placed in the box are at a student's own risk. The school takes no responsibility for their safety.
